Thank you so so much to Strand Book Store, Rachel Griffiths and everyone who came out to hear us talk about books and boys and motherhood and tears. It was so incredibly wonderful to see so many family and friends in the audience who I’ve known for decades—and to meet new fans and people I’ve only chatted with on Instagram. Also: no Miss Lollipop stuffy this time around because the real Miss Lollipop was there!
What a night at Anderson’s Bookshop! Thank you to Alison Hammer / Ali Brady for the great conversation, Lisa Barr for the wonderful photos, and everyone who braved the rain and the cold to spend time talking books. It was so wonderful to see old friends and meet so many new ones. Thank you for having me, Anderson’s!
So much fun at A Great Good Place for Books! Thank you for eight years of amazing support Kathleen Caldwell. And now I think it’s official that Jandy Nelson and I cannot be in the same room together without cracking each other up. Thank you so much to everyone who came out to celebrate The Love We Found.
I had such a blast at my tour stop in LA! Visiting Zibby’s Book Shop for the first time was a total dream—thank you so much to the team there, to Andrea Robertson for the great conversation, and to all the family and friends—old and new—who came out for the event. Also loved exploring Montana Ave with Andrea and Jen Rofé and the spectacular pizza party at Amy Laura Ephron’s house. She even got a red velvet The Love We Found cake! How absolutely amazing is that?! Thank you, SoCal, for 27 unforgettable hours.
I had the most heartfelt conversation on Totally Booked with Zibby! We talked all things The Love We Found—from the inspiration behind revisiting Lucy’s story, to grief, motherhood, and the emotional rollercoaster of second chances. We even touched on the magic of Italy and the challenges of writing romance when life gets complicated. If you haven’t listened yet, I hope you do.
The Love We Found is out in stores today! When I started writing The Light We Lost more than a decade ago, I had no idea the ways in which that book would change my life. And I had absolutely no idea that readers would care enough about my characters to want a sequel.
From the bottom of my heart I (and Lucy and Gabe and Darren) want to thank every reader out there who read The Light We Lost, who recommended it to a friend, who chose it for a reading group, who posted about it on social media, who rated it online, who sent me DMs and emails about it—I am so grateful. This book is for all of you.
Thank you for letting my characters into your heart. And thank you, too, to Miriam Altshuler, Tara Singh Carlson and the whole team at Putnam Books and HQ Stories. Working with you all is one of the biggest honors of my life. Also: Reese’s Book Club — your support has been the most wonderful gift. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Thank you to Oxford Exchange Bookstore, Annabel Monaghan, and all the amazing readers who came out for such a wonderful launch event for The Love We Found ! What a beautiful way to begin this tour.
I’m so excited to share that my book Stars in an Italian Sky has been features in Woman’s World Magazine’s list ’10 Historical Fiction Novels Set in Italy.’
So honored that The Love We Found is on the list of Zibby’s Most Anticipated books of 2025! Zibby has been an amazing supporter of my book since The Light We Lost came out and I am so grateful for her kindness.
I spent three days at CDM Sound Studios recording the audiobook of The Love We Found for Penguin Random House Audio. It was such an incredible experience to climb back into Lucy’s skin eight years after I recorded the audiobook for The Light We Lost. This novel is emotional too, and now, if you listen to both audiobooks, you can hear me trying not to cry on the very last section of each.
