Sparkle Spa 10’s Birthday!
June 20, 2017 was the book birthday of the tenth and final book in the Sparkle Spa series, Glam Opening. I’ve been working on these books now for almost exactly five years. Kare Nagel at SimonKIDS sent me an email asking if I wanted to send her sample pages for a series she had an idea for on June 29, 2012. It’s been so much fun sparkling with her and the whole crew at Aladdin since then. I will always be grateful to them for giving me the opportunity to bring Aly, Brooke, and all the characters in this world to life.
A Reading List on The Stripe
I loved the review of The Light We Lost that was part if the reading list on The Stripe. My favorite lines were: “Oh my goodness – if you read one book this month, make this be it” and “[I]t felt so real and true (and reminded me of stories so many of my married friends have told me), and I will just say that I sobbed the entire last chapter. When I found out that the Arab Scientific Publisher had just licensed the publication of The Light We Lost in Arabic, I went out for a celebratory lunch at Souk & Sandwich. It was pretty delicious.

I was a bit beside myself when The Light We Lost hit the USA TODAY bestseller list. All I could think about was how grateful I was to everyone who supported me and this book throughout the writing and editing and publication process. Huge thanks to all of them!

The Greek Edition!
I did this photo shoot when the Greek edition of The Light We Lost arrived. I loved getting to see how my name was spelled using the Greek alphabet. I also loved that my photo is flopped, so I’m looking right instead of left, like I usually do in that picture. And I loved
that Delia Ephron, Karma K. Brown, Brenda Bowen, and Thomas Christopher Greene are on the back flap!
