So thrilled to see that GirlsLife.com featured Summer Love in their online book club. If you want to read what they had to say, just click here!

Author and teen novel guru Cynthia Leitich Smith invited me to guest post on her blog, and I did! I wrote a piece called “Following Your Heart or How Life is Like a Choose-Your-Own-Ending Novel.” If you want to read it, you can click right here.
In an article about the “choose your own adventure” format, The Horn Book mentioned Summer Love and said “Ideal for fans of Sarah Dessen and Gayle Forman…this is a diverting prescription for summer-vacation reading.” I’m a big fan of Sarah Dessen and Gayle Forman’s books, so this mention makes me very happy.
You can read the whole review here.
I found out that Simon & Schuster offered free Sparkle Spa massages to all of the attendees of the Texas Library Association earlier this month. How cool is that? Here are some photos of the set-up:
So that new edition of Alec Flint #2, The Ransom Note Blues, I was talking about is now available at Amazon.com and BN.com! If you’re looking for the book, you can find it here (Amazon) and here (Barnes & Noble). It’s not available through Indiebound yet, but once it is, I’ll post that information too.
For the past few months or so, the second book in the Alec Flint Mystery series, The Ransom Note Blues, has been unavailable for purchase. But now, it’s available again! For the moment, you can find it here, but in the next few weeks it’ll feed out to other online book retailers (and your local bookstores should be able to order it too). I’m so happy it’s out there in the world again. (And now it’s available electronically too.)
I spent yesterday at the Cherry Hill School doing two big presentations for the 1st-5th graders and two smaller mystery writing workshops for the 6th graders. What a group of creative, imaginative kids!
The Sparkle Spa launch party at Books of Wonder was mentioned in Publishers Weekly’s Children’s Bookshelf newsletter today! There was even a picture! So exciting! (You can read the piece here.)
Annemarie O’Brien, the author of Lara’s Gift, invited me to her Dog Reads blog to talk about Purple Nails and Puppy Tails, the second in the Sparkle Spa series. I discuss polishing a puppy’s nails and writing about it over here–and there’s a bonus cute picture of a dog named Sadie Rose if you click on the link.
Simon & Schuster has created a website for the Sparkle Spa series! You can visit it over here at www.sparklespabooks.com and check out some of Brooke and Aly’s manicure tips. There’s a two-chapter-long excerpt of All That Glitters on there, too, if you want to see what the series is all about.
A friend was walking around in the Barnes & Noble on the Upper East Side of Manhattan today and found All That Glitters on the bookshelves there! This is the first time anyone has seen a Sparkle Spa book in a bookstore!
